The Secrets To Improve Search Engine Ranking
July 25th, 2008 Other

Getting your webpages place highly in the search engines is critical. Search engine optimization of your pages, quality back links and original content–of course, are the key factors needed to improve search engine ranking. No matter what your niche or keywords, you need to pay attention to these.

But what should your focal point be?

Your keywords are of the utmost importance. For the page that you’re considering, what are some specific phrases that embody the article? Carefully researching your keywords will help to get a targeted phrase that has little competition. Carefully select the word or phrase you want to rank for every page because this is of major importance.

For good search engine rankings, one must consider both on page and off page factors. The things you put on your web page are called on page factors. This includes your alt tags, title, meta tags and the content itself. When your rankings get better and more people visit your site, better content improves the chances that they will buy something or perform the appropriate action.

If you are going to improve search engine ranking, it is important to include you keyword phrase about 3 times within your article (at the beginning, in the middle and in the last paragraph) as well as in your title and keyword and description meta tags. In addition, use your keyword phrase within the name of the file.

But what’s on the page is not as significant as what’s off the page. This refers to how your page is pointed to by other sites. The keyword phrase you are targeting should appear in the anchor text of the majority of the links to your page. In bound links should be natural so it is best to use variations in the anchor text. The best links provide both highly relevant content and quality writing and design; still, links from pages that have general interest appeal should not be overlooked.

Links are key if you want to improve search engine ranking since more links you have, the higher your web page’s will rank. For getting your site to a high position in the SE’s, the inbound links are more important than what is on your web page, it is your content, however, that will keep them coming back. If all else is equal, you simply getting more links than your competitors will put you ahead of them in the SE’s.
