Confusion about Keyword Research |
| May 18th, 2008 under Other. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
It seems that there is a lot of confusion about how and when keyword research should be done. Keyword research should be part of your niche finding process and should start right after you have came up with your list of potential niches.
Once you have your list of potential niches it’s time to find out if they hold any income potential.
How are you going to do this?
Well to make it simple: you/we are going to have to do some keyword research to figure out what the competition is like for those niches. To do this you are going to need a proven way to research keywords surrounding your niche/niches. There are a couple of Quality tools/software out there that can make this process much less pain staking and help you find out exactly how competitive your desired niches are. Keyword Elite and Wordtracker are probably the best two on the market, both will do about the same job but there is some cost difference so you may want to look at both of them and decide which one is best for you. After you choose a quality research tool/software the fun begins.
I think we have covered the when in the above text so lets look at the how part of keyword research.
Let’s use Wordtracker to demonstrate this, mostly because I have it open right now. You can create a project to better track your research, but for this example I am going to go straight for the Keyword Researcher section to start our keyword research.
The first thing we are going to do is make a list of potential keywords for the niche we want to research in the ‘your seed words’ section. Then we are going to click on the research button and get our list of keywords. Now scroll through the keywords and place a check nest to only the keywords that are most relevant to our niche. Then click the delete button and delete all the unchecked keywords so we can remove some of the clutter right off. At this point we have very little information so let’s click the Evaluate tab to get some more useful information. Now we can see a list of our keywords including the number of results returned for each keyword. If we click that number it will take us directly to the results page within the search engine so we can have a look at the results returned. What we are looking for is direct competition, which is basically any site that is actually offering the same type of information/product that we would like to offer or sell. If we notice a lot of competition for the keyword then we can assume that getting a top ranking in the search engines is going to take a lot of time and that the pay-per-click cost will be high. At this point we will most likely discard that keyword as it’s profit potential is not very good.
We will repeat this process with each keyword until we discover some valuable keywords that can bring us both natural and PPC traffic that won’t break our bank. In some cases you may find that a niche is too competitive and you will be better off going to your next niche and repeating the keyword research process until you find a profitable niche. This may become repetitive and some what annoying, but it is necessary to locate a profitable niche. Once you have found your niche and have your keyword list now you can register your domain name and start building your site.

Postcard Printing For Your Business |

Even with the increased use of e-mail and other Internet technologies, postcards are still commonly used throughout the world to send greeting and well wishes to family and friends. Postcards can also be used for business marketing, however, it does take time and attention to detail to get the printing for your custom size card to turn out just right.
You can get postcards to send in lots of different sizes, but there are pretty much two standard sizes, 4.25×5.5 and 6×9. This is measured in inches. These items have a special kind of paper different than your traditional printing. Also, there is usually a special glossy layer, and they are of high enough quality to save as a picture or to send as a note.
For postcard printing there are different set-ups. The most common formats are 4/0, 4/1-blk, and 4/4. These numbers stand for the amount of colors to be printed on each side. Four color printing is full color, and 4/0 is basically one completely printed side and one blank side. If you were to put black on the other side it would be considered 4/1-blk. Full printing on both sides is considered 4/4.
Postcards are also used very often for business purposes, as they can be a very cost effective way of marketing your products or services. The following are among the purposes for which they are often used: real estate, mortgage marketing, business, corporate postcards, and direct mail marketing.
You can find and use different business cards templates on the web. You can usually choose what online printer to use. The cost will vary depending on how many printouts you need. Most often you can get discounts if you are ordering in bulk. There is usually a free rate tool that you can use to determine the price. Quantity is one aspect that can greatly influence the cost, you can sometimes get bargain prices as low as fifty cents.
If you want to print your own postcards, it’s simple to do, and there are lots of places on the Internet that can help you do so. They really want your business, so they make it as simple as possible. They provide the latest in printing technology, good service and lots of customization, in order to simplify the process, and as a result, you get high quality and low-stress postcard printing.
Even with the increased use of e-mail and other Internet technologies, postcards are still commonly used throughout the world to send greeting and well wishes to family and friends. They generally have a gloss coating, they can be of excellent quality, and a 10 pt. coated side is the most familiar with postcard printing usage. There are also a variety of business cards templates available that allow you to print business cards online. They generally come with your choice of online printing service. The cost is based on the number that you need, often with large discounts coming from bulk orders, and they often offer a free rate quote.

The Art of Good Copywriting |

When you embark on copywriting, it usually involves a product, person, service or concept that you want to deliver content about in a persuasive manner the reader feels compelled to read. If you are selling anything, or if you want your users to sign up for an opt-in email list, you’ll need to master some basic copywriting principles to achieve your goals.
1. Persuasive is the name of the game when it comes to headlines. You want to grab your reader and hook them in that first three seconds they’re reading. By the time they get to the end of that headline, they need to want to read more. If you can’t do that, your headline has failed. It’s got to be catchy, challenge, entice or exploit some current event. The headline must lead the reader directly into the rest of the text on the page. The hook must make them feel compelled to read the rest of the text on the page.
2. The tone has to be casual, informal and conversational. Just like how you talk to a friend. Be good with grammar, but don’t be conventional about it - for example, you can have some one-sentence paragraphs too.
3. There should be one section that clearly outlines in bullet-point format the major advantages of the service or product being offered. Each point should be kept brief giving the impression of speed and confidence.
4. Now this is important: The writing has to be simple - no humungous words, no long sentences, no confusion - everything should be written lucidly in a simple style and the copy must flow logically from one paragraph to the next. The reader should be able to understand everything in one go.
5. The copy should always emphasize on the reader’s wants and desires. So, before writing the copy, put yourself in reader’s shoes and ask what is it you’d like to see written.
6. Have a commitment or promise made by the end of the second paragraph. It needs to be made early on to have the copy start building and leading the reader where you want them to go.
7. The way the paragraphs flow together should be seamless and most of all logical. If there is any fluff, wandering or digression, clean it up and toss it out. Web visitors have short attention spans and even shorter tolerance for extremely long-winded copy that appears to be imploding.
8. Avoid making claims and promises that have no basis in fact, just because they sound good. Your reputation is built upon honest delivery of fact. This is not creative writing. It’s copywriting and if you have a “magic ingredient” that makes your chocolate taste incredible, you’d better be able and prepared to back that up with facts and testimonials.
9. Many sales letters will have an extremely persuasive opening, bulleted benefits to the reader, and a number of decent testimonials and when it comes time to make an offer of the service or product, there’s nothing there. Please realize that by the time a reader has gone through all of points above and has reached the bottom of the page, they are expecting something. On the Internet, they are usually looking for a deal, bonuses, freebies and inducements for buying right then. Essentially, they want an offer they can’t refuse. Well, give it to them. You will strike gold as a result. Miss this, and people will leave your page scratching their heads. Which would you prefer?
10. Make the end so irresistible that it compels the reader to take action. Maybe you can offer some freebies with your product, maybe you can offer a free newsletter or a software download, whatever. Just remember spice up the end.
These were some principles of good copywriting. If you are starting off, look up the Internet for sales letters that have worked in the past and try to model your pitch based on them. Slowly, you will get a hang of copywriting, and from then on you can only get better.

Futures Trading: The Deadly Error That Brings Inevitable Ruin |
| May 18th, 2008 under Other. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
There are several elements to the mental trap that traders get caught in when they first start trading that sets them on the wrong course, but one particular mistake is the one that makes for imminent account blow out, or at least a rather lengthy and painful journey in becoming a successful trader.
Fortunately, even though this situation is one that is difficult to foresee and very understandable that it happens, there is a straightforward and rather simple resolution to the problem.
The core of trading is certainly within the ability of most to grasp, however trading as an occupation does have a significant body of knowledge to absorb and specific skills that are required to trade profitably and with consistency. In addition to the fact that most traders are of smarter than average, this makes for a situation where the success rate should be much higher than it is.
As is with most professions with a significant body of knowledge, there is a progression to trading.
Here is an analogy to illustrate the problem. Let’s take mathematics.
Mathematics begins with the concept of numbers in general, quantifying items. Then one moves to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. From there, one moves into algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Once that base is developed, then one can comfortably move on to calculus, La Place Transforms, differential equations and other higher math.
If however, a person does not fully establish the prerequisites for calculus, such as algebra or trigonometry, the concepts in calculus may be understandable, but solving the problems will be a tremendous challenge, if not near impossible to solve. If one were to try to go directly from basic mathematics to differential equations, it would be a very long struggle indeed to become proficient at the higher level.
It has been documented in studies on the obstacles to learning that have found that there are specific physiological reactions when a person encounters this particular phenomenon - that of starting too high up in a learning gradient or missing foundational knowledge while trying to grasp concepts at a given level.
This is the fundamental mistake that many traders fall prey to, and they are generally not consciously aware of this particular situation and its impact. Many people begin active trading without the foundational knowledge to trade at the level where they become active. When this occurs, it presents a sizable obstacle to adequate learning within an efficient time frame. Subsequently, the trader often winds up taking a severe financial beating, sometimes losing all their capital before they have established a sufficient skill and knowledge base to trade proficiently.
The individuals are not to blame. This is a systemic problem which unfortunately most have to endure. There is no mandatory training or certification before a person is allowed to put themselves and their capital at real risk, so the high percentage that fail is largely the result of a lack of warning and preparation for what the business of trading involves.
The traders that are fortunate enough to seek out the proper guidance and help are the ones that can minimize the effects of this situation that is so prevalent in the trading world. If one can find a mentor that is aware of this particular obstacle and the others that are present in the development of a trader, then odds are greatly improved for a positive trading experience. Most however choose to go it alone or simply make it on sheer persistence alone, while learning the lessons of trading the hard way - through personal experience and numerous losses.
Instead of falling prey to this mistake as many do, you have the option to save yourself considerable time, losses and personal anguish. This begins with backing up so to speak and making sure that you’ve got the basics fully covered, and then moving forward with a focus on mastery and development.
This one factor can determine your destiny as a trader, so it is well worth heeding.

Your Own Home Based Business in 10 Steps |
| May 18th, 2008 under Other. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
Owning a home business is good; owning a home business that generates good, hard cash is even better. Well, to run an extremely successful home business with ease, all you have to do is follow our tips - and here they are:
1. Research: You cannot set up a web shop just because you feel something will sell. You have to research the market and figure out what is in demand. For this, you may have to latch on to the hottest product trends by following up on marketing reports doled out by professional marketing websites. You may have to pay a small subscription amount, but the information you get is worth its weight in gold.
2. The product thread: You must always pick a product that can be followed up by other products as well, which may complement or even substitute it. For example, if you are selling Proactol (a natural fat binder that can help lose weight, get rid of constipation and clean the colon), you can also offer Isabgul (a natural laxative) for people who don’t want to lose weight, but just want to get rid of their constipation.
3. Presentation: Your presentation must be unique. This is not to say that your website must sport a jazzy design - far from it, in fact, a simple website with user-friendly navigation will work wonders. Now, about the presentation: Let’s assume once again that you are selling Proactol. The focus of your presentation must be to hammer home the advantage of FDA approval for Proactol over other natural herbal colon cleansers, which are not backed by any regulatory seals.
4. The power of good copywriting: Words are power on the Internet. While you want your site to be easy to navigate, you want your words to grab your readers and impact the message you are trying to convey in a sincere, truthful and clear manner. Enticing the reader to take action at the end, you let your word make the case for why they should buy. In this area, avoid doing the writing yourself. This is the job for an expert so outsource it to a professional and reap the rewards of an excellent presentation.
5. After you’ve gotten them to buy: The payment system should be seamless and managed by a reputable merchant banker who also offers many payment options. If you are looking to build a store, look at Paypal for an affordable, credible company with a long history and is used by many freelance professionals who consider it their preferred method.
6. Getting the traffic: You can adopt multiple tactics that will ramp up traffic. You must place keywords strategically in your content, offer a free newsletter or other freebies, advertise on search engines using the PPC (Pay per Click) model, set up a blog, list your website on directories, submit articles, enroll affiliate marketers, join social networking sites and entice their members to visit your website (this is called viral marketing), and so on.
7. Updates: When people subscribe to any of your freebies or buy your products, always update them (by sending them an e-mail) about what’s happening on your website.
8. Track your progress: As the visitors start to arrive, you will want to track where they come from, not just how many show up. In this way you can track which advertising methods are working and if you need to tweak your traffic campaign. If they come from a certain concentrated area or geographical location, you can build a bigger advertising campaign around that.
9. Reliable webhosting is a must: Always choose a credible webhosting company. There is nothing worst that starting an advertising campaign only to find that your website is down. Do some research and find the best host to suit your budget that gives you the largest amount of uptime.
10. Interest: Finally, always choose a product that you will be interested to work with and promote. There’s no point selling guitars if you’re not interested in - if you promote a product you have a keen interest in, you will get a nice psychological boost every time a check comes in.
That’s the recipe for a surefire successful home business that will bring you prosperity.

Create Buzz and Get Your Site Noticed Today! |
| May 18th, 2008 under Other. [ Comments: none ]

|
A well-laid out website with great sales copy is great. If you are the owner or webmasters of such a site, traffic just makes things better and better. If you have to choose between the two, which would you go with - great eye candy or a website that’s over run by visitors? Of course, you’d take the latter, lots of visitors jamming your site. Well, now you can do that and here’s how you can divert massive traffic to your website.
Whee, it’s free!
Now, if you are selling a product, say coconut oil used in cook, and you want to give away a freebie that will give customers incentive to sign up for your email list. If your e-book or report talks about the best dishes to make with coconut oil, it will be well received on a site about coconut oil. The point of this example is this - freebies attract people, visitors who will arrive at your website because the freebie strikes a chord or fills a need. Along with the freebie, they will join your list to get it and then you can sell to them again in the future and stay in touch with them now.
Gee! It’s not free!
What’s that mean? Relax, we are talking about introducing PPC or pay per click into the mix. These are web advertisements that you can set up and release as your budget permits. If you budget $100 a month, PPC ads can be placed on search engines and will bring traffic to your website. If you take this route, you’ll want to research your keywords thoroughly prior to planking down your deposit. Work on getting a killer ad developed, then watch the visitors arrive. Stick with Google if you’re offering a service and go with Yahoo a product offering.
Link building
You build links when: (i) someone likes your website so much that he plants your link on his own website; (ii) you pay a web design firm for placing links on other reputed websites, and (iii) when you exchange links with other reputed websites. Note the use of the word “reputed” above - if you build links with scamsters or link farms, your website will receive a negative rating by search engines. Always, build links with reputed websites and avoid exchanging links with your competitors.
Article submission
Article marketing is one of the older, traditional forms of marketing online. Does this mean it’s out of date? Quite the contrary, article marketing is stronger than ever. If you provide professional, informative content on your website on a consistent level, you will find that your credibility increases. If you increase your credibility and get the word out at the same time by submitting your articles to article reprint directories, traffic will increase to your site. As well, one way backlinks will increase your sites visibility will increase many-fold.
Affiliate marketing
Sign up with an affiliate network such as CJ.com or Linkshare.com and invite affiliate publishers to host your product/service on their website for a commission. If they do, your visibility will increase along with your sales - this works especially if you have a low-cost, fast-moving product that needs more publicity.
Running a Contest or Sweepstakes
Use the services of websites such as Feedback and Response-O-Matic to plant forms on your website. Now, ask users to fill in these forms to qualify for a prize. This way you will collect a massive database that you can use for email marketing.
Viral marketing
Register with social networking websites and plug in fun and engaging content that will draw the members to your own website. Your traffic will receive a super boost using viral marketing.
These methods will generate a lot of continuous traffic. While online advertising is always available, consider using some offline advertising techniques as well. You can give away freebies off line as well as on including stickers, business cards with a calendar on the back and more. No matter what you decide, do it with style.

Fixer Upper Houses Can Reap Significant Profits. |
| May 18th, 2008 under Other. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
Since the mortgage crisis hit the realty market, you can find all sorts of ways to profit from this unfortunate turn of events while improving run-down areas if you just have some knowledge and experience in repairing property. Two instances of this are fairly obvious. First there is purchasing, renovating and flipping houses; and second there is buying rental property. Although lots of people have been hurt by the downturn in the market, for others it is the answer to a prayer.
A good investment for people who are knowledgeable about repairs or someone who can afford to pay someone else is a fixer upper house. A home that is run down can be purchased for a low price, and repairs can be made that will help it to fit in the neighborhood, then the house can be resold or rented. A “flip” is when the house sells very quickly after a renovation. A house is considered a rental or investment property if it’s not put on the market, and rented out instead.
Fixer upper houses can be tracked down in a few different ways. If a house is in foreclosure or if it is in a sheriff sale, it may need cosmetic or structural repairs. The lender or owner of the home is unlikely to make these repairs because they will lose money on the house either way. This lowers the selling value of the home considerably, and creates a good opportunity for a buyer.
Often, a foreclosed house it not up to par with the other houses in the neighborhood. If the property is repaired and renovated to the neighborhood standard, then it could be sold for a much higher price than a home not fixed up. By cleaning up the eyesore of the neighborhood you will help protect market values and make the neighbors much happier. If you plan on renting out the home, a newly renovated house will have a much higher market rent than one in not as good of shape.
Homes being auctioned by tax sales is another good place to find homes that may need repairs. These homes are being auctioned off because the property tax for them is delinquent. There are many reasons a home may be behind on property tax. Perhaps someone got in too deep on an investment. Maybe the home belonged to an elderly person who can know longer afford to take care of themselves, or even passed away. Or they could be the victim of the adjustable rate hike because the Subprime market has yet to be foreclosed upon.
As long as you make sure the home isn’t overly improved, the work that was performed is of good quality, and make sure to stay within your budget, it shouldn’t matter how you obtained the fixer upper houses. You should be able to either flip the house or rent it to someone else, letting them pay the mortgage. No matter what, both you and the neighborhood come out victorious. There is even the possibility that you fall in love with the home and move in yourself.
The fixer upper houses can make excellent investments, if you know how to make the needed repairs, or can have them made inexpensively. You can buy the house in poor condition, bring it up to the standards of the neighborhood, and then sell it or rent it to other people. The term “flip” has been invented to refer to transactions in which people renovate and sell such homes quickly. The practice of flipping houses and buying rental property are wonderful examples of others taking advantage of the current situation. Many people have had drastic and negative experiences, but for informed others it has been a golden opportunity.

The A-Z of Press Release Writing |
| May 18th, 2008 under Other. [ Comments: none ]
|
|
People usually thing of a press release as a bland announcement sent out to newspapers. Some people think it’s simply a communication tool that is designed to hype things and consider it a mere formality. What a press release can do is boost traffic, create backlinks and get new customers if it’s correctly handled.
Essentials of a press release
1. A press release is not a sales letter; it is an announcement about the launch of a new product or service. If there is no announcement to make, then you must consider pushing back your press release to a later date when you have something concrete to announce.
2. A good press release doles out valuable information about a product, service, offer or organization. There should be no hype in a press release.
3. The headline of the press release must hook the reader and compel him to read the main content. There must be an element of intense drama in the first paragraph, and from the second paragraph onwards the press release must answer the what, why, when, where and who of the core matter.
4. Content in a press release must always be newsworthy. It may be picked up the national media services and become part of a bigger story, so you need to write it like it is going to a large newspaper.
5. The press release should be informative and interesting. While you can focus on your product or service, it should be part of an overall newsworthy content and not an advertisement for a specific product. When looking at your final output, try to think of how it will be interpreted by the reader.
6. Keep all cliche statements out of the press release.
7. Stale headlines should be avoided. An example of a stale includes, “New Website Offers 10% Off”. This is no specific, doesn’t describe what the 10% off of what and has no benefits for reading any further. It has also been overused in advertising.
8. A good press release explains how a product or a service satisfies a need, and then backs it up with testimonials.
9. A press release must be factual - no more, no less - all fluff and exaggerated blah blah must be completely avoided. Your press release must read true.
10. Use dynamic, peppy language, but don’t use slang. The press release must be written in an active voice.
11. Keep your press release clear and concise. Use the KISS* method when crafting your piece. (*Keep It Simple & Savvy).
12. Don’t use upper case letters and follow the rules of grammar.
13. When writing your press release, keep in mind that you will need to summarize it. All PR websites publish press releases in total, but for their listings use your summary. Be very clear in the summary and push benefits for reading further.
14. Write a strong resource box that talks about your services and website with a link back to an interesting article on your website.
These were some guidelines for writing a good press release. Follow them, and you’ll come up with a cracker that will get you hits, publicity and therefore more sales. Good luck!
